Business Missions

Trade missions provide a structured approach to nurture collaboration and business development, providing business operators with the opportunity to develop their internationalisation potential and help entrepreneurs gain knowledge on how to operate in specific markets.

Eligible Actions

Eligible Events:

• Real-life or virtual trade missions organised or endorsed by TradeMalta as announced in the relevant Expression of Interest issued.

Eligible Costs

• Travel costs and Per Diem covering one (1) representative participating in the event in the case of a live event only.
• The maximum number of days covered by the Per Diem shall be limited to the number of full calendar days covered by the trade mission.

Funding

• Small and Medium Sized Enterprises may be reimbursed up to a maximum of 50% of the eligible costs.
• Large Enterprises may be reimbursed up to a maximum of 40% of eligible costs.
• The official event information published by TradeMalta may indicate a specific capping of fixed reimbursement for the event.
• Companies may still apply for financial support under TradeMalta’s other schemes, but funds allocated under this scheme will be deducted from the overall capping of Eur 30,000 in maximum assistance from TradeMalta to a single undertaking in one calendar year. 

Who can benefit?

• This incentive is open to eligible undertakings who would like to utilise TradeMalta’s networking channels, and structured platform to showcase their products and services, and meet potential business partners.
• Eligible sectors are listed in the Guidelines in Section 3 pg. 10.
• Undertakings operating in other economic sectors may also be considered eligible to join trade missions as established by TradeMalta in the Call for Expression of Interest.

Applications

• Applications can only be submitted following a specific Call for Expression of Interest for an upcoming trade mission, as issued by TradeMalta.
