Job Title: Chief Executive Officer
TradeMalta Ltd, a public private partnership between the Government of Malta and The Malta Chamber of Commerce, Enterprise and Industry is seeking to recruit a Chief Executive Officer on a full-time basis, reporting to the Board of Directors.
The Role
The selected candidate will, among others, be responsible for the following key duties:
- Developing and deploying a business strategy that delivers sustainable growth for the organisation
- Overseeing the day-to-day business operations and ensuring maximum efficiency levels at all times, including proper utilisation of all the company / existing support schemes
- Developing and retaining talent within the organisation
- Engaging with and assisting the local business community to develop a deep understanding of their needs and operations for internationalisation projects, as well as to support them in developing and consolidating international business opportunities
- Monitoring markets that are of interest to local enterprises and engaging with foreign governments and trade offices to successfully manage contacts
- Keeping fully up-to-date with national, European and global developments.
Requirements
- A minimum of MQF level 6 or equivalent preferably in business management, marketing, international affairs, innovation, or other related fields
- A minimum of 5 years experience in a senior management position
- Having international business development experience will be considered an asset
- Excellent communication, networking, public speaking, presentation and writing skills
- Self-starting and able to identify and prioritise tasks as well as take ownership, assume responsibility and work with a team
- Excellent decision-making skills, organisational and interpersonal skills, intellectual agility and creativity to respond to international changing demands and adapt accordingly
- Work under pressure and meet tight deadlines while producing high-standard results
- Commitment to travel frequently overseas
- Good command of Maltese and English, and preferably proficient in one or more other languages.
